Lake Gairdner Tour
Flight Time: 1 hour
Flights from: AU$250.00 per person
Depending on your itinerary, you can depart from Mount Ive or Wudinna for a scenic flight over beautiful Lake Gairdner.
There are more than 300 islands scattered over the lake which comprises some 4,300 square kms of surface area. Approximately 160 kms in length which extends from the Transcontinental Railway line near Kingoonya to the north and Mount Ive station to the south.
Lake Gairdner is surrounded by the magnificent Gawler Ranges on the southern end and most of the western side. More picturesque than Lake Eyre by far, it is very often covered by water due to local rainfall and feral camels can often be seen wandering across the lake surface.
Flight Time: 40 minutes
Flights from: AU$110.00 per person
A scenic flight from Venus Bay toward Baird Bay displays a rugged coastline with 300 metre high cliffs, isolated beaches and rolling surf, unique settlements on the southern coastline and the Conservation Park for endangered species.
One of the highlights of this 40 min. flight is the sea lions which are always sun baking at Point Labatt or swimming and playing at Baird Bay. So much to see from this aerial perspective with the speed and comfort of our aircraft.
Eyre Peninsula Fly and Fish Adventures
Flight Time: FULL DAY
Flights from: AU$270.00 per person
This full day Eyre Peninsula Wild West fishing and aviation adventure is a day to remember!
The airstrip at Coodlie Park is used and this tour fishes the waters between Flinders Island and the mainland stopping in spots best known to the operators.
The boat meets the plane on Flinders Island where the airstrip is just behind the homestead situated on Groper Bay. Lunch and drinks are included before return.
From the air it is amazing to see a long white sandy beach stretching all the way from Talia to Elliston where dolphins are almost always seen playing in the surf. We pass overhead rugged uninhabited islands studded in the water off the coastline from Elliston enroute to Flinders Island.
Your fishing guides, David or Trev, have local information relating to the maritime history and industry of these places. This tour comes recommended by the operators who wish to share their knowledge of this region with adventurous groups of 8 to 10 people.
